Doesn’t It Make You Sick?

Harmful chemicals are in our homes, workplaces, and in products we use every day.

But current Federal law does not protect you and your family. In fact health and safety testing has been required on only 200 of the 80,000 chemicals on the market. Chemicals in our everyday lives can harm your reproductive health and the health of our kids. As a health care provider, it’s our job to promote healthy families.

That‘s why Planned Parenthood is working with our partners in the environmental community to try to limit chemicals that have been linked to health problems like infertility and breast cancer.

Here's how you can get educated and get active:

We're hosting informative and interactive events in Tacoma and Spokane.

• Hear a short presentation
• Visit information tables about green cleaning, safe baby bottles, how you can help make change, and more.
• Bring in a toy or another item from your home made of wood, plastic or metal and have it checked for harmful chemicals by the amazing XRF testing machine!
• Learn about which products to watch out for as you shop.
• We’ll also have activities for children.

Our Annual Luncheon Was a Great Success!

Planned Parenthood Votes! Washington held its 11th Annual Luncheon Tuesday, May 20th. We filled Bell Harbor's beautiful event space with our supporters and special guest Arianna Huffington addressed the crowd. Congressman Jay Inslee also recorded a special message for guests. The event was a great success for Votes!, bringing in over $81,000 in donations. Every dollar raised makes it possible to reach out to two pro-choice voters to protect the health and safety of women in Washington State. Our work is made possible through donor financial support and we sincerely thank you for helping to make this year's luncheon a success!
